Nevada Adds 2,900 new Jobs in April, Extends Growth Streak to Seven Months
Nevada’s economy added 2,900 new jobs in April 2026, marking its seventh consecutive month of job growth
Construction led the state with 1,700 new jobs, followed by administrative and support services with 1,000 jobs, and professional services with 700 jobs. While these three sectors added a combined 3,400 jobs, losses in other industries partially offset some increase, resulting in a statewide net total of 2,900 new jobs.
Over the past year, Nevada has averaged 2,300 new jobs per month. The state ranks among the top states nationally for year-over-year percentage job growth.
Las Vegas continues to stand out, leading the nation in tech job growth with a 4.2% increase — more than double the national average.
For context, the U.S. economy added 115,000 jobs in April 2026, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
