Nevada Ranks 4th Among U.S. States for Attracting Overseas Visitors
Nevada welcomed 2.64 million overseas visitors in 2024, placing it fourth among all U.S. states, according to data from the National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO).
Only New York (9.8 million), Florida (8.86 million), and California (6.95 million) ranked higher. Together, these four states accounted for 57% of the nation's total 48.9 million overseas visitors.
NTTO’s overseas figures exclude travelers from Canada and Mexico. These two countries are the largest sources of international visitors to the U.S., but their arrivals are tracked and reported separately because of their proximity and high volume of short trips.
Nevada’s performance highlights Las Vegas as a global entertainment and gaming destination. State and local tourism organizations, including Travel Nevada and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, support international marketing campaigns and air service development to attract long-haul travelers from Europe, Asia, South America, and other regions.
Tourism is an important part of Nevada’s economy. In 2024, the state hosted a record 52.4 million total visitors (domestic and international), who spent $58.5 billion. This generated a total economic impact of $88.5 billion and supported over 459,000 jobs statewide.
Nevada leaders continue to promote tourism and economic diversification while addressing issues such as travel policies, visa processing, and infrastructure at Nevada airports.
Although overall Las Vegas visitation softened in 2025, Nevada’s 2024 overseas results show that the state continues to attract international travelers.
